The Certified Journalism Educator exam is designed to demonstrate your knowledge of basics in journalism and media advising. The following information will assist you in preparing for the exam.

Content Outline

The free-response test of 20 questions will be administered during a two and one-half hour period by JEA officials. Participants will have an average of seven minutes per question. The categories of questions and number of questions on each exam from each category are listed below.

The Certification Commission has written the questions so they can be answered from a general journalism advising perspective or from a specific broadcast, newspaper or yearbook perspective when appropriate.
